Testimonials
We know first-hand that choosing the right care home for a family member can be an overwhelming task. For peace of mind, here are some testimonials from Beechcroft families to help you with your decision.
Dear Radka and team,
Karen and I just wanted to write a short note of thanks and appreciation to all the staff at Southbourne for all of your hard work, dedication, kindness, and love which you provide to all the residents at Southbourne Care Home. My mum is so lucky to be cared for by a Group of such wonderful people.
We were particularly moved over the Christmas period to be able observe the participation and interaction between all the staff and residents at Southbourne over a packed programme of events. It is almost impossible to quantify the huge difference that you make to the resident’s lives, and to see the dignity and compassion with which you (mostly!) young people treat the residents is truly wonderful.
Thank you, once again, for all your support to us, as relatives, as well.
With our thanks and admiration,
Paul and Karen
I am very pleased with care my mother has, the home is lovely and easily in the upper quartile of care homes.
My mother stayed at this home recently and she enjoyed her stay. She is 91 and so needs a lot of help with many things, such as dressing, eating, drinking, and she is very frail so she needs help with her mobility. The staff at Choice are very attentive and caring, always smiling and nothing too much trouble. The food is good and her room and the home is very clean. There is a lovely garden area where you can sit, nestled in the heart of Babbacombe. I highly recommend it.
Southbourne looked after my dad recently, the staff were amazing with dad and the management staff he loved very much. We cannot fault this care home, the staff looked after dad so much that he had his favourites, we cannot as a family thank Southbourne staff enough for everything they did for dad. They also got along with our family. It put our minds at rest, we were very much supported by the management and staff nothing was too much trouble. We as a family can't thank you enough I would highly recommend this care home.
My father was cared for in Beechcroft for almost 3 years. The care he was given was of the highest standard. He enjoyed every aspect of living at Beechcroft from the food to the entertainment. There are plenty of activities and an exercise session every week. His favourite time was when a Care Dog visited as he always had a dog before living at the care home.
He was returned from hospital for end of life care and even though we couldn’t be with him due to Covid the staff gave him every comfort. The manager gave us regular updates on his condition and showed us every kindness.
I am grateful he was at Beechcroft for his final days as I am sure he felt he was 'home'.
My uncle was a resident of Beechcroft Care Home from March 2020 until he sadly passed away on 30th January 2022. During this time and throughout the Covid pandemic the owner and staff of Beechcroft were exemplary in their care of him. They looked after him with care and compassion and love. I know he felt part of a family there. In sometimes very difficult circumstances they never failed in their caring and professional attitude to my uncle. I always felt he was safe and secure at Beechcroft which when visiting is difficult (because of Covid and the distance I live from the home) is extremely comforting.
Mum was taken into emergency care at Beechcroft following the sudden death of my father, her carer, almost two years ago. It took her a couple of months to settle in but the management and staff were extremely patient and helped to put our minds at ease during a difficult time. The carers at Beechcroft are always very welcoming, polite, friendly and helpful; mum seems happy and settled, has made friends, enjoys the food and activities and we take comfort in the knowledge that she is safe and well looked after.
Between visits we speak to the manager and deputy manager regularly for updates on mum and they are always happy to take our calls, answer any questions we may have and keep us well informed of any health concerns or upcoming appointments.
Mum will soon be leaving Beechcroft to come and live with me at home but I would like to thank everyone involved with her care for their hard work and dedication and for making mum's experience a lovely one. You are all amazing. Thank you.
My mother has been a resident at Beechcroft Care Home for more than two years. She has received consistently good care. The carers are friendly, highly motivated and the team is well-managed. I always feel welcome when I visit and always find her room clean, warm and comfortable. Communications with the home are excellent and I receive regular updates on her ongoing medical condition. They are always happy to facilitate phone calls with Mother. I have every confidence in the continuing care she will receive.
“Excellent cleanliness and housekeeping. Staff very kind and welcoming to visitors especially when my mobility is very poor”
“The Manager – Joan runs a very efficient home with staff who are the kindest, most patient and caring I have ever seen. My father was never left alone at any time day or night and each time my mother and I went home after being with him we felt totally confident he was in the most caring hands”.
