Activities and Mealtimes
Family and community are at the heart of everything we do at Beechcroft Care Homes, so it goes without saying that shared mealtimes and activities are a key part of daily life at all of our care homes.
Activities
Daily games, activities and fidget boards help to keep residents stimulated and interacting with staff and others throughout the day. We also encourage gardening, singalongs and personalised activities where we can.
As families would do, we get together to mark key calendar dates including Easter, VE Day, Wimbledon and Christmas with activities and celebrations for residents to participate in at each of our homes. We organise regular trips to Babbacombe Downs, Cary Park, Tessier Gardens and the local shops, singalongs.
Mealtimes
As part of our ongoing care, each resident has their own tailored nutrition and hydration plan, seeking professional advice from a dieticians and other professionals as required, and meals are freshly made using local produce as much as possible. We’ve been using the same local butcher for 20 years and fresh fish and vegetables are sourced locally too.
Residents can choose where to eat but are encouraged to share mealtimes together where possible and staff are of course always on hand to support at all times.
