Live music at Beechcroft Care Homes

Here at Beechcroft care homes we love having live music! Music is great for the soul, physical health and mental well-being of all individuals, it also has many benefits to those living with Dementia. For more information: Click Here for Dementia UK Music Leaflet

May 8th marked the 81st anniversary of World War II where that week there were patriotic celebrations throughout the homes, including cakes, flag waving, hats as can be seen, singing songs from the era such as Knees Up Mother Brown, White Cliffs Of Dover, You Are My Sunshine and many more including songs from iconic artists Doris Day and Vera Lynn. Althoguh songbooks were available, they were not needed by the musically talented and enthusiastic participants. We all enjoyed some dancing too, with a few spins along with the smiles this brought to everyone involved.
